Kampung Jurong Zine- Inspired by the Project Zero process, Yuqi was curious to see what magic would come up, if she combined its narrative-based approach with her idea to create a local zine, one that would show off the distinct identity of the neighbourhood.

Bold journeyed with Yuqi and a team of young story-miners, to bring the zine from concept to fruition. Over 12 weeks, we drew out the stories, talents and curiosities that had brought each story-miner to the project; together, we went on sensing journeys in the Yuhua neighbourhood to source for story angles; and we delved into the basics of interviewing and publication layout design.

Since then, over 500 copies of the inaugural issue of the Kampung Jurong Zine have found their way to various locations across Singapore, including bookstores like Books Actually. Preparations for a 2nd issue are now underway!
