The Process:
Singapore Polytechnic was keen to explore the potential of creative learning in the context of community innovation. 12 Year 1 students from across the School of Media, Art, and Design and the School of Business came together through a month long student-initiated community innovation project, designed by Bold At Work.
Through our framework and set of tools for community innovation, the group went through the process of activating selves (through a structured exploration of their values and strengths), aligning intentions within the context of the local needs and creating prototypes that they tested out with our partner Loving Heart Multi-Service Centre and local residents.
Students emerged with a greater sense of agency and possibility, supported by the design thinking mindsets and bolstered by their experience of creation.
