Soaring Boldly
Buckle up as we embark on the bold life journey of 19-year-old Wei En, who has persevered despite the obstacles and continues to challenge herself.
of Farming, Being and A Million Dreams this 2019
The year of 2019 has been an exciting and magnificent one for us. With new partnerships formed, a growing BOLD tribe as well as many other new creations and experiences, we couldn’t have asked for a better year. Before 2020 kicks in, we take you through the entire year in a 60-sec short clip plus hear from the three at BOLD AT WORK what the year has been like for them!
We have been Jura-SEEKING around!
It has been close to a quarter since the soft launch of JuraSEEK Park. What started as Design-Thinking opportunity to make career conversations as accessible as possible has now turned into a tool that has enabled many young people to have a glimpse of their current realities- their very own life goals. Here’s a photo documentation of the journey thus far!
Getting Unstuck
Many of us could find ourselves using and hearing the word ‘stuck’ many times a day. “I was ‘stuck’ in meetings all day!” “I am stuck in a job I don’t like; what should I do?” But what does it really mean to be ‘stuck’? And might your body hold the clue to how you might get unstuck? In Life Hack Workshop: Presencing inspired by Theory U, two bodies discuss with Yoek the coordinator, their unexpected discoveries on the way out of stuck.
More Than Ourselves
How does Play, Live and Work- the three spaces that we revolve our lives around currently look like and what could our world have more of that we can offer our unique skills to? We were inspired by the lenses of the 17 year olds, the ones who claimed they have never ever wandered into their neighbourhood.
The Gift of Boldness This 2020
It has been close to 3 years in the making. Boldness is not just worn on the sleeves but don on like a cape of honour. In the new year, new decade ahead, we gathered our closest tribe, shot snippets of our candid interactions at common places
In Seeking My Truth
Through Khloe’s recent experience, we explore what’s often left unspoken in this journey of transit and sometimes what’s required is much vulnerability and openness.
Set Yourselves Up for Surprises
From conceptualisation to execution, it was made possible because of surprises after surprises. How hard would something as cute as a paddle-pop arigurumi be? After all, we had people in the room who conquered ‘mountains’ and scaled heights! We surprised ourselves, and along with that were many life lessons learnt.
Till Our Stories Matter
An unexpected mix of people, young-senior, handyman-office clerks, leaders-therapist. The only thing they had in common was belonging to the same work team. Who would have thought this was a start of a reimagined future together?
Our Initiation - Beyond Borders
What began as a sharing of experiences made us realised that there’s more left to be uncovered beyond what we can conceptually understanding- it hit us only when we brought our interaction not just into the real world but beyond boundaries.
Don’t Be Sorry Coloring Out of Lines
Nail Aesthetician. Graphic Designer. Crystal bracelet curator. The many talented lives of Annabel Lee. But that’s not all. She says it would be more exciting if a full time job comes along.
A Benchmark for the Kind of Culture I Hope For
In our next season, Bold is looking for youths who are budding seekers and creators. Curious individuals who share our beliefs and are keen to commit to adding on to our BOLD culture. But before that, do us a favour and read on Jowelyn’s personal reflections to know what you are in for.
Pursuing A Purpose Beyond Self
A constant exploration to make visible the work of our youths as they journey through changes in their life. In this piece, listen into their pursuits and spot something in common between the two of them.
A New Perspective One Thread At A Time
An eloquent recount by Sindy, a participant of the recently concluded Sew Simple workshop- this workshop imparts more than just the skills of sewing. It is an attitude of trying, she says.
When Liminal Space turns into a Party
What happens when we bring together different groups of youths who are seemingly in their own definition of liminal spaces? What we once associated such a space to be with, perhaps can now take on a different meaning.
Off the Beaten (Jurong Railway) Track
Much has been captured about the Tanjong Pagar railway track and its’ green corridor but what’s lesser known is the Jurong railway track, that we suspect had a huge role to play back in the days when Jurong was lined with factories after factories. Surely, there must be economic rationale for its existence
What About Our Inherent Lenses?
If I had to summarise an outcome of our role in the recent Makan with Seniors prototype of what the future of intergenerational engagement could be, this question would be it- What are you not seeing because you are seeing what you are seeing?
Love and All is Coming
Watching the duo - Jerry and Dorothy conceptualise and organise the recent Love Pazaar was quite a ‘treat’ to many of us. This piece articulates the origin of where the idea of love was first ‘caught’ and their views of how the outcome of love should be in the constant defining and practicing of of it
Cooking as a Cherished Process
When Cody walked through, we could sense his desire to free one’s attachment from the stimulants of food that the ‘outside world’ provides and to value cooking as a back-to-basic and yet cherished process.
Who really holds the power over learning?
Vincent, a participant of our recent life-hack class on Bodyfulness, through a conversation with Yoek the coordinator, explores the intersections between space and learning, shared curiosities and community and most significantly, the question of who really holds the power over our learning?
